To understand the spiritual causes of addiction, we must first look to the Word of God to get wisdom and spiritual understanding in how things work in the spiritual realm.
Our natural (senses, reason, intellect) minds fight it at first. Not intellectually processed, supernatural wisdom from the Holy Spirit.
We did not figure it out (being saved) from our carnal mind, only comes from the Holy Spirit.
Our reason has a difficult time grasping these spiritual truths, they are a supernatural wisdom, a divine revelation from the Holy Spirit.
John 16:13 Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth…the bible. Col 1:9 ….we do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding
Eph 6:12 Where is the real battle, in the spiritual realm, we wrestle not against the flesh.
You have been delivered out of the kingdom of darkness. Col 1:13
The devil comes to steal, kill, destroy John 10:10
John 16:13 Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth…the bible
Col 1:9 ….we do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding
Romans 8:5-6 For they that are after the flesh (the natural man, senses, reason) do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded (the mind governed by, senses, reason) is death; but to be spiritually minded (the mind governed by the spirit, the Word) — is life and peace.
To be carnal (worldly) is to behave and believe like the natural man, thus its opposite (spirituality) is simply to behave and believe like a spiritual man.
1 Cor 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
1 Cor 2:14 The natural man( senses, reason) receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
